Hey everyone, we're new here (just got approved). Anyhow, Fuji and I are in Central Florida, where currently.....she's not so happy about going outside (it's like 3948230983 degrees, and 2000% humidity).

I call her a "Ninja Dog" because she has a way of being in one place, then......
*poof*
......turn your head, and she's across the house.

Originating website is here, as may be required per protocol. She IS a full adult now, just small due to some gastro issues when she was younger. Besides, a 52lb Malamute is a tad easier to manage than a 100-pounder (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Hi and welcome! I whole-heartedly concur....photo 3 is awesome! She's adorable.

I know about the heat....we've hit 100 the last three days and with heat index above 100, bleh, my poor Lexxi is hating it ( Luka is a couch potato and seems perfectly happy laying around)

I got her from a local breeder, whom I also know from work. All her siblings are 70+ and in some cases over 100 (I run across them occasionally at parks and such). So it's certainly not a genetic thing. As the story goes....when she was a wee little pup and had no manners.....stole a rib from my visiting Grandmother (thinking it was a solid piece of meat, no doubt) and swallowed it whole. As you can imagine, it tore her GI system up pretty bad, and combined with the removal surgery; she was REAL sensitive to anything solid and threw up a lot. Consequently, learned that food = sick, and decided that she'd rather just forgo that whole "eating" process. Right in the middle of all those major growth spurts.

To this day, she has to have Royal Canin's Prescription LF or else she barfs. Lol....I probably have the only Mal on earth that can be free fed. Five cups in the bowl, mornings; every so often through the day you hear "crunch, crunch," and sometimes the bowl is empty by night, sometimes not.

Yeah, although my dang AC system is dying a slooooow death; barely able to keep it under 80 inside today. To it's credit, it has been a year of record weather anomalies for Florida, and this Summer is shaping up to continue the trend. So there's a lot of camping out under fans and on tile (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

Thanks everyone. Although small, she has all the other "Typical Malamute" (read: BIG) personality traits.

Welcome to you and Fuji. I've never met a black belt Mal before. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) She's very pretty and looks like she has good spirit. Not really unusually small--my guy Taku is 73 pounds at 17 months so he too is smaller than expected but plenty of Malamute.
