QUOTE(Dean @ Jul 26 2010, 10:02 AM) *

I really appreciate all the advice I have received from my fellow Wildpaw friends. With all the vehicles mentioned I started searching the internet for the specs of each vehicle. One thing I didn't mention is that the winters here in Indiana are horrible so I was looking for a 4x4 V8 but with the Explorer, Honda, Town and Country, Taurus, etc being mentioned I will consider all. The doggie daycare's owner drives a Jeep Grand Cherokee which also is in the running. She has 5+ dogs (varies on days of hauling around) that ride with her. I understand a gate is essential. Right now, Gracie and Clyde know when I turn on Elder Rd that we are going to camp so they both try to get a headstart bt stepping on my legs to get out. VERY SCARY! Dangerous to drive with both their heads at mine. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

explorers do come in V8 as well as V6

The clone to the explorer is the Mercury Mountaineer. A lot of those have the 8 cylinder engine.
At least out on the west coast it is harder to find the V8 Explorer unless you go to the two door sport. Same
vehicle just more nice stuff inside.

My vote for the ultimate Malamobile -- JGC SRT8. Of course with a built 7.0 stroker, 60mm twins, 150 shot to get of the line.......maybe a harness to keep the pup in the seat ;-)

Yes Paul you are right...Mountaineer comes in a V8 as well, I had one...the only difference with the Mountaineer is it only comes in AWD.

Good idea storing the ramp Sue... wondered what we'd do once we needed that. I thought maybe I'd get one of those steps that goes where the tow hitch goes and swivels out - anyone ever use one and does it work well?????

Do you oldtimers remember when I posted this one years ago? People have actually thought that Jack and Eddie were driving the car (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) but it's superimposed. It's one of my favorite pics.

well remembered Beth. The ultimate dog car, all it needs now is a navigations system
and they can just get there on their own.

Cool car Dean!!! Actually, my boys were sitting on the grass in the yard. My friend Lisa, made this picture by super imposing it. She had some kind of photo shop or something. It's pretty cool!

Hi Beth....the '37 was my daily driver in Tucson from 1996-2001 when I moved back to Indiana to help with my aging parents. I really love the Southwest and hope to return somewhere in that area someday.

I'll try that photoshop thing sometime when I get more tech with computers.

Did you know that I live in Phoenix (Mesa, AZ)? I'm originally from Illinois. Moved out here in 81. I love it here....although right now, it's to hot and humid, MONSOON season. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Now, this is some setup:
No nose prints, or large tail fins.

I love that picture of Jack and Eddie, it always brings a smile to my face.

Al, is that 41 chevy pickup? That was what we had when I was growing up and it is still in the family.
