Hi everyone. Sierra is my red & white mal. She was adopted last year from SCAMR and is a very vibrant and gregarious soul. She also has AIHA, which as some of you know can be difficult and frustrating to deal with. But we don't let it get us down as we've been pretty lucky for several months now.

Sierra loves just about everyone she meets and if someone tells her how pretty she is, she knows it's an invitation to lean, rub, wiggle and squirm her way into getting lots of attention, petting, praise and touching. She does have some peculiarities however. She is afraid of guitars and isn't sure about men in long pants (when they come in the house, but men in shorts are just fine), when we're outside, men in long pants are just fine. She also has a habit of goosing people (pushing her nose where it doesn't belong), loves her toys, especially when they are new. Sometimes she talks alot, sometimes she doesn't. She spent her first year with german shepards (so I've been told) and we think this is why she barks far more often than she sings (howls) - though we do try to get her to sing every now and then. She sometimes is capitivated by animals on TV and will go right up to the screen and cock her head (maybe trying to figure out how they got in there and why can't she smell them?). She likes a lot of dogs, but not every dog. I haven't found a pattern to that yet - there probably isn't one. At times she can be pushy and wants other dogs to acknowledge her as "top" dog - at least, that's how it seems to me. She adores my friend's dog (another mal), but he doesn't seem quite as interested in her as he used to be. He's also 4, so maybe he's become a little more mature in the past year (?). She never gives up trying to get him to play however and sometimes he obliges her, sometimes not.

We've done some obedience training and tried for CGC in April, but she simply wouldn't remain in a stay position long enough (She passed everything else though!). And we meet with a group of friends every week to practice (mostly mals, but right know we have a couple of young sibes in class who are simply adorable) which Sierra finds great fun in seeing all the dogs (not that they are all her favorites, but we work though that)

She is the girl, some of you may remember, that Paul so kindly put a post up when she had a high fever back in June. Sierra and I thank you for all the kind thoughts and support. She got though it OK.

So, that's a brief intro to my girl. Talk to you soon,
Ronda (and Sierra too!)
